The Future

With 21 short days left in my Consultant career I am experiencing a mixture of feelings.  Sadness, anxiety, fear, but the emotion I am experiencing the most is excitement.
This year I have taken away multiple things but one of the most important ones is self-confidence and toughness.  I survived the unknown of daily life and many ups and downs, I am ready to take on the world!

The Madness Returns

It is yet again my favorite time of the year.  Weather is getting warmer, the sandals are out (except when there’s snow on the ground….boo!)  The birds are chirping, the trees are blooming and of course BASKETBALL is on TV!
I don’t know what it is about March Madness, but I love the buzzers sounding, upsets and bracket following.  What can I say, now that it is coming down to the Final 4 there have been some amazing upsets and last minute shots in this year’s tournament. Another great year for basketball!

You can’t diss a girl who loves her some month for March.  No matter where I am I cannot get enough of it!

True Love.....

It’s been a while since my last blog. Between traveling, reports, meetings and trying to catch up with family and friends I have stayed extremely busy!
Like one of the other 15 million viewers watching the finale of a show I have been enjoying for many Monday nights….the Bachelor!
Now I am normally not a huge fan of the Bachelor, in the lifespan of this show I have really only watched and enjoyed less than a handful of seasons.  What can I say though; Brad won my heart from the beginning with his sweet smile and genuineness in wanting to find true love his second time around on this show.  And Emily she stole the hearts of America the very first time she told the heart wrenching story of her past.
Needless to say I was elated last night when for the first time, the person I wanted to be chosen on the Bachelor was! And I truly was moved, like so many other women in America, by their beautiful engagement on national television.  It wasn’t until the After the Final Rose Ceremony when Brad and Emily discussed their difficulties over the past few months with breakups that I realized even the fairytales aren’t always as perfect as they seem.  It takes guts to admit your flaws on TV with millions watching, but they did.  And their open honesty helped me to realize that what I’ve known all along is definitely true, no relationship can be perfect no matter how meant for each other you are.
Thank you Brad and Emily.

5 Things I Cannot Live Without

5 Things I Cannot Live Without
Being on the road once again reminds me of those things I just could not go a day without, I saw this super cute idea on another blog and thought it'd be a great idea to share mine!  Some of them I have lived without lately and I have once again been reminded how much more enjoyable my life is with them in it.
1.       My IPhone of course!  I am obsessed with the thing.  It not only keeps me linked to my family and friends back home but also connects me to the internet and world.
2.       I have an addiction and I am not even afraid to admit it!  Diet Coke perks me up and just makes my day all around better.  Let’s just say this travelling set I have learned my lesson, I CANNOT live without Diet Coke and will be sure to let my chapters know this on my next visits J  (can you tell currently have a caffeine headache?)

3.       My Lily Planner.  I cannot live without writing down my daily schedule and to-do list.  OCD?  Maybe but it definitely makes me more productive, plus who couldn’t resist the bright colors and large pages in this gloomy winter weather of Nebraska!

4.      Burt's Bees is the best thing that ever happened to my lips!  I can’t stand to have dry or chapped lips and haven’t had to on the road using this stuff.  No matter how many tubes I lose it’s still worth every penny.

5.       My family and friends.  I feel like I write about this so often but honestly nothing makes me feel better about life or brightens my day more than chatting it up with them.  No matter where I am they never fail to put life in perspective for me!

Getting By...

Whether they are family, roommates, friends you’ve known since a young age, Sorority sisters, siblings, co-workers, significant others or someone you’ve recently met….
I have learned one quote to be entirely true.
“I get by with a little help from my friends.”

I have too many to name but am thankful for them all.

Leaving on a Jet Plane..

Packing my bags to be on the road again starting tomorrow, by the time my feet touch Virginia ground again it will have been almost a month!  Between Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio who knows what is in store for me.
I am secretly hoping I will return to beautiful Virginia weather and magically have a tan J

Brighten Up for 2011!

With this burst of warm Virginia weather, I cannot help but think of the beautiful dresses and bright colors for Spring.

I have recently gotten into nail color and although I am still not entirely sure how I feel about the bright blues and greens that I see coloring so many nails this time of year..I LOVE the bright pinks and reds that are offered by OPI’s latest collection.

I also cannot resist the beautiful floral patterns and bright colors that fill the racks this time of year.

So bring on the beaches, sun, sandals and please Harrisonburg get some better shopping (can you telling I'm dying to see the Spring lines!)
